We continue the series on Wednesday, August 7, 5:30pm in the Grundstrom Room with a film that depicts 1930s University of Washington rowers overcoming the disadvantages of their working-class backgrounds, personal adversity, and geography to succeed in representing the U.S. at the 1936 Summer Olympics, where Jesse Owens won gold in front of Hitler. The eight-man team demonstrates the meaning of trust and camaraderie. For more information on the films, please subscribe to our weekly newsletter, Northminster News.
Note: Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to publicize movie titles online.
