Multicultural Worship Services at Northminster
Did you know that two immigrant groups meet weekly at Northminster for worship? Please pray for these Christian brothers and sisters as they continue to develop communities of worship, fellowship, and support. Guests are always welcome to join them for worship!
In 2010, NPC’s leaders were approached by African refugees and immigrants who were exploring the possibility of having an African worship service on NPC’s campus. After several years of regular African worship services, training in the Reformed faith, Africans joining NPC as members, and planning for a fourth Sunday NPC worship service, NPC celebrated the beginning of the Arise! worship service in 2014. Arise! is now one of four Sunday morning worship services at NPC (actually five, if you count MEPF), and our Session, pastors, and the African worship leadership team celebrate what God is doing in our church by blessing us with African sisters and brothers in Christ.
Arise! takes place on Sundays in the Fellowship Hall from 11:00am-1:00pm. Nursery care is available.
Middle Eastern Presbyterian Fellowship
Sundays, 11:00am, in the Grundstrom Room
Led by Pastor George Bitar, the Middle Eastern Presbyterian Fellowship worships Sundays in the Grundstrom Room at 11:00am. The MEPF has been meeting at NPC since 2008, and is composed of people of many Middle Eastern nations, joyfully worshipping in Arabic.
Pastor Ken Skodiak provides encouragement and connection from NPC to this group.
