ROLES

Ruling Elders (three-year term):
Together with ordained pastors, ruling elders serve as a governing board called the Session, which is the governing body for church management and leadership. Elders, individually and jointly, strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation committed to their charge of spiritual leadership for the total church. Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel, both within the church and in the community.

Deacons (three-year term):
The office of Deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion and care, after the example of Jesus Christ. The primary privileges and responsibilities of Deacons are to minister to those who are in need, both in our church and community. Deacons should be persons who have spiritual character, honesty, sympathy, good judgement and exemplary lives to be chosen for this leadership position.

Nominating Team (one-year term):

The nominating team reviews the nomination submissions and compiles the slate of nominees. To be considered, these individuals should be persons who have a background of service to Christ through our church, a knowledge of the work of the Session and the Board of Deacons, a broad acquaintance with members of this congregation, and a sincere desire to assume the responsibility required.

We recognize the significance of the commitment we are asking you to consider and thank you for your prayerful consideration and assistance in the process.
