PATHWAYS to Generosity
PATHWAYS to Generosity
Find the connection between your faith and your finances
An opportunity to discover the joy of growing in your relationship with God as you experience living generously
Jesus talked about it...
Jesus spoke openly about money and possessions. About two-thirds of the parables and about one in every ten verses in the Gospels address this very issue. As followers of Jesus, we talk about giving as an outward expression of our love for Christ.
It's a spiritual matter...
Generosity is linked to our discipleship journey. How we use our resources is primarily a spiritual matter, not a financial one, and is determined by the spiritual condition of our heart.
It's not about the budget...
In campaigns like this, it can be tempting to approach the financial needs of the church as if we were simply funding the budget. In Pathways to Generosity, we acknowledge that living generously is an inseparable part of our following Christ. God does not need our money; rather, we need to give as an act of gratitude and trust.
It's about trust...
As we grow in our trust of God and follow Christ’s teachings more faithfully, we learn to rely less on ourselves and more fully on him.
Pathways to Generosity will help us deepen our understanding that generosity is not our way of raising the budget, but God’s way of raising disciples, transforming each life that journeys on the pathway and empowering our church to continue to transform lives together as disciples of Jesus.
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
- 2 Corinthians 9:11

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
